JVM is a great place to learn about the languages that run on the JVM, (Java, Scala, Kotlin, Go, Clojure, Groovy, JRuby, Python, Frege, Ceylon, Haskel, Xtend).

We also promote related progressive technologies and ideas!

All skill levels are welcome.

We seek to create a community of software developers reflective of the general population's diversity. To that end, we are dedicated to creating a welcoming and friendly learning environment.

Everyone has something to contribute. Everyone deserves access to materials and a community that will help them learn. Individuals deserve to participate if they can be respectful and not disruptive to other participants.

We welcome new speakers! If you've never spoken before, do your first talk with us. Talk about anything. Tell us your experiences (good and bad) trying to learn Scala or Java or Kotlin. Talk about the legacy system at your job. Educate us on the wonders of Rust(or whatever your favorite other language is). And if the idea of speaking for the first time makes you nervous, leave a message and one of our veteran speakers will help you get started and coach you through your first talk.
